entering the old, lame portion of my life

camping at the beach was a good time.  amy made me an awesome birthday cake - candy tiara included!

spending the days at the beach was great - there are several dog-friendly beaches at cape henlopen, so we could take bugsy and nellie swimming.  at the old age of 6 (old for dogs anyway), bugsy is actually learning to swim!  it’s pretty darn cute.

on monday, we ended up spending the whole day with this little boy who made himself at home on our chairs, under our canopy, taking our dogs for walks, keeping score and commentating on our horseshoe game, you name it.  he was a pretty cute kid and quite precocious, so he kept us laughing all day long, but really, what kind of parents allow their to children to ‘harrass’ other people at the beach all day long?  his sister (who was older, and much less cute and funny) spent the whole day making herself unwelcome with the people sitting next to us.  they actually thought the kids were ours, and were quite surprised when we weren’t taking them with us at the end of the day when we left.

the only bad thing about the weekend was the bugs.  not too sure if they were sandfleas, or what.  but they bit the crap out of me.  i literally had more than 80 bug bites.  take a look at my back (picture below) - and then just imagine most of my body looks like that.  ugh.  i was an itching fool for a couple days.
