in fact, now that i think about, i’m VERY easily scared… i have an extremely active imagination that has been severely influenced by the horror movie industry.
* there’s a pretty covered bridge (smith’s bridge) in wilmington, but i’m close to tears when we drive through it at night because i’m convinced the headless horseman is going to come get us. (yes,, seriously, the headless horseman)
* when there’s a full moon, sometimes we’ll go for a ride over to brandywine park just to enjoy the view, but i usually spend the whole time listening for chainsaws and looking over my shoulder for crazed madmen.
* i cannot look under beds or in closets. the boogyman hides there.
* i try not to use the bathroom in the middle of the night - there are probably snakes and spiders in the toilet waiting to bite my butt.
* if i’m home alone, there are obviously escaped loonies and convicts trying to break into my house.
* i need to approach my car with caution b/c someone could be waiting in the backseat of the car to kill me. but don’t get too close to peer in the window, b/c then they will be under the car waiting to grab my ankle!
there is the possibility that i’m quite crazy. but i’m still alive thanks to my paranoia
archways of the curtis music institute - near rittenhouse sq, philly. went with b&w for this one…
we took bugsy and nellie to the beach with us - and the people at the beachhouse loved them. 2 people actually wanted to take nellie home!! there is a first time for everything. there was further confirmation that if you are a dog person, you either like big dogs or small dogs, never both. whenever we take both dogs out, inevitibly we will be stopped by people wanting to pet ONE of the dogs. they will gush over how cute that dog is, and act like they didn’t see the other dog. maybe as they are leaving, they will ask what kind the other dog is, and say ‘oh, neat’ as they are walking away. we should start keeping a tally to see whose dog is more popular ;)
kickball season two starts tonight! we are on a new team: ‘Saved by the Ball’… if you aren’t in your twenties (maybe early 30s), you probably don’t get that reference. but it cracks me up everytime…
lighthouse in portland maine on a cloudy day….
i’m headed to the nj shore tomorrow and monday. more when i get back!
i’m going to post some photos i’ve been taking lately… constructive criticism welcome.
this is a sunset at rehoboth, through a keyhole in a bridge… this is actually the photo i will be presenting at my class photography show next month.

uhhh, work went well today. and i did manage to see the ocean, several historic coastal defense forts, and two lighthouses in my visit. but i miss home. and i hate airlines. it’s never their fault either. they can blame flight cancellations on ‘air traffic’ or ‘weather’ and they don’t have to give you a dime, an apology, or a smile. luckily papa pirnie is paying for this one…. anyway, it seems like something is wrong with the airline industry, when you are pleasantly surprised if your airline flights/itinerary actually go as planned (paid for).
things to do in augusta:
- eat lobster
- go to the maine military museum
- go to the ‘authentic!’ memphis bbq restaurant (huh?)
- visit camp keyes
- watch a plane take off at the augusta airport
- go to the state archives/library/museum (all in one building for your convenience)
- swim in the saltwater pool at the best western inn & spa
- drive through the traffic circle ‘downtown’
- leave augusta and go somewhere else - maybe portland?
ok,, looks like i’ve got the augusta itinerary covered, so i’m coming back to delaware tomorrow. (where there are TONS of fun things to do, haha)
